COURSES FOR SPECIAL PURPOSES DB, KEC, KTH

Type of course:                       2-week specialised intensive course

                                                 (9 days of tuition plus a half-day

                                                 related visit or excursion

Subjects on offer:                   

• German in the Office (Course DB),

• International Business and Commerce (KEC),

• Tourism and Hotel Industry (Course KTH)

Number of lessons:                 Six 45-minute lessons per day (54 lessons in total)

Number of students:               6 to 8 (minimum/maximum)

Prerequisites:                         KEC: 500 hours of German intensive tuition or equivalent;

                                                 DB and KTH: for Level A 300 hours and for Level B 500 hours of German intensive

Course dates:                         Courses start at the beginning and in the middle of each  month

The German Courses for Special Purposes are designed for participants who are already professionally involved in the fields of international office communication (Course DB), business and international trade (Course KEC) or tourism and hotel industry (Course KTH) as well as for those studying these subjects at college or university. The courses aim at giving the students the opportunity to revitalise, extend or generally improve their skills in the use of specialised German. The principal objective is to train the students’ abilities in active communication, both oral and written, with regard to professional situations.     

The teachers use selected text materials from relevant business publications along with audio-visual materials of current interest.
