ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS IN VICHY

 

STUDENT CARD

 

When you arrive, you receive a student card, which gives you access to the university restaurant as well as entitling you to special discounts in a number of places in Vichy, including theatres, cinemas, restaurants and shops.

Administration and others formalities

 

Our accomodation office is available to help you complete the following administrative formalities :

  • "Carte de séjour" (health insurance is obligatory)

  • Personal insurance at student rates, as well as cover for your family if necessary (you will need a copy of your birth certificate translated into French

  • Health problems

  • Opening a bank account

  • Train tickets, flight reservations and hotel accomodation

  • Placing children in nurseries, registering them with local schools or enrolling them at leisure centres during holiday periods.

 

VISAS and SOCIAL SECURITY COVER

 

Along stay student visa is compulsory for students spending longer than 3 months in France.

Residents of European Union countries do not requires visas, but should obtain form E111 (giving access to medical services) before leaving their home country

Students aged under 27 who enrol for courses preparing for DELF and DALF exams receive a card entitling them to the benefits of the French social security system, as well as access to university facilities.

 

MEALS

 

Meals may be taken at the university restaurant. A number of other restaurants in the town centre can also offer discounts to students.                             

 

 

 

ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS

Our accommodation service is available to help you find suitable accommodation. A number of different possibilities exist :

 

SELECTED HOST FAMILIES.

 

Your own bedroom, either with half board (breakfast and evening meal), or breakfast only. Your host family will meet you on arrival at Vichy station.

 

 

STUDENT  RESIDENCES

 

Private Kitchen and bathroom, bed linen and crockery provided

 

STUDIO FLATS

 

Fully-furnished, complete with cooking facilities (room with small kitchen + shower) (minimum stay 2 weeks)
