D.A.L.F COURSES AT VICHY
The D.E.L.F. and D.A.L.F.
examinations
The "Diplome d'Etude en
Langue Francaise" (DELF) and the "Diplome Approfondi de Langue
Française" (DALF) are recognized qualifications awarded by the French
Government (Ministry of Education). They consist of a number of
différent modules, and can be taken in a numberof different countries.
They officially certify a
specified level of knowledge and ability of French as a foreign
language. The school itself played a key role in the conception and
development of these two qualifications.
Holders of the DALF need no
other proof of linguistic ability to study at French universities.
The D.E.L.F. 1st and 2nd
level (6 modules)
D.E.L.F. level 1 : 4
modules (A1 to A4) : certifies that students can communicate in everyday
French.
D.E.L.F. level 2 : 2
modules (A5 and A6) : Holders of this certificate posess a good general
level of French language and culture, and can analyse texts to give oral
or written commentaries.
The D.A.L.F. (4 modules)
The D.A.L.F. certifies that
students can master the various different spoken and written skills
(summerizing, analysis of documents and oral presentations) required in
a particular specializes area of study :
Access to the D.A.L.F.
This exam is designed for
those who wish to take the D.A.L.F. without taking the D.E.L.F.
beforehand.
How to obtain the D.EL.F.
and D.A.L.F.
There are 9 exam sessions
for the D.E.L.F. and 2 sessions of the D.A.L.F. each year. You may take
all the modules necessary for both D.E.L.F. and D.A.L.F. at the school.
Students receive a certificate for each module passed : these
certificates are valid both in France and abroadfor an indefinite length
of time. You are free to sit some exams in your home country and others
at the school. The final qualification is awarded when you have passed
all the required modules.
